WHO IS DERRICK BYARS?

Derrick Byars is a retired professional basketball player with 16 years experience between the NBA, NBA G-League, and Euroleague. Derrick was the 42nd overall pick of the 2007 NBA Draft and his NBA experience includes stints with Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, and Memphis Grizzlies. Internationally, he played in Spain, France, Germany, Israel, Greece, Belgium, Russia, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico while visiting  50+ countries. Most recently Derrick played 6 seasons in the BIG3 league, a professional 3-on-3 league for former NBA players co-owned and operated by entertainment mogul Ice Cube.

Prior to becoming a professional athlete, Derrick graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. At Vanderbilt, he was named the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Year (2007) and led the Commodores to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16.

What is Byars Basketball?

Derrick made the transition to basketball development and training in 2018, forming Byars Basketball. Holiday camps have been held annually and hundreds of clients have been impacted and mentored throughout the process.
